St Johnstone went down 3-2 to a Manchester United XI in Alan Main's testimonial at McDiarmid Park. United took a deserved lead after nine minutes when Liam Caddis blasted an attempted clearance off the leg of Oliver Norwood - the ball cannoning past the helpless Graeme Smith and young Norwegian striker Joshua King doubled the visitors' lead before the break. Saints' new signing Marcus Haber scored a debut goal in 63 minutes and after he was felled in the box soon afterwards, Main's son, Nicholas, came on to fire in a composed spot-kick for the equaliser. Main senior, who had played the first few minutes in goal for United before being replaced by Sam Johnstone, returned for the home side for the final five minutes but was beaten by Nicky Ajose's low drive with seconds left on the clock.
