Barnsley ended their pre-season campaign with a flourish with a 2-0 win over Chesterfield at the b2net Stadium.

The Tykes had the better of the encounter but had to wait an hour before making the breakthrough as Andy Gray gobbled up a rebound after Jeronimo Neumann's shot had come off the bar.

Chesterfield searched for a way back into the match but a poor back-pass allowed Liam Dickinson a clean run on goal in the 87th minute and the striker made no mistake with his finish to seal the win.
